M/V Majestic Explorer, Galapagos Islands

M/V Majestic Explorer, Galapagos Islands

Beginning in August 2018, the M/V Majestic Explorer will join the Explorer Ventures Fleet’s M/V Humboldt Explorer in offering weeklong diving itineraries in the Galapagos Islands. Located nearly 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, the Galapagos are a haven for both underwater and topside nature enthusiasts from around the world. Diving in the Galapagos showcases everything from schooling hammerhead sharks to marine iguanas and nudibranchs. Marine turtles, schools of tuna, eagle rays, and sea lions are all very common and seeing a whale shark is likely from June through November. These remote and uninhabited islands are only accessible via live-aboard yacht.

The Majestic Explorer will comfortably accommodate 16 passengers in eight air-conditioned cabins, all with private baths and windows. The air-conditioned salon on the main deck includes dining tables, TV, CD/DVD, video library and lounge area. Sunning and viewing areas, seating and a hot tub are located on the top deck. The dive deck is equipped with individual gear bins, camera table, recharging station, air and nitrox filling stations, tank racks and a separate fresh water rinse tank for underwater camera equipment. Diving operations are conducted from two large pangas (tenders), easily boarded from the dive deck.

The seven-night packages include accommodations, up to four dives daily (weather permitting), three meals daily (except the last evening’s meal); between-dive snacks; towels and linens; use of tanks, weights and weight belts; all air fills; transfers within Galapagos Islands for same day arrivals and departures and alcohol and non alcoholic beverages (premium alcoholic beverages available for an additional charge). For 2018, itineraries start at $5,895 per person (double occupancy) and the 2019 itineraries start at $6,095 per person (double occupancy).
